I love shopping for free! :)
Don't we all love shopping for FREE?!! Hmm..i guess i already know the answers from all of you that might read this entry.
Well, the story's like this. Now, ladies, please be warned that this entry might be a very painful entry especially if you were not involved in this event :D
Yesterday i was invited to attend a Harpers Bazaar event. It was the event for the best beauty products for 2008. So of cos there was this makeup artist named Arnold who was teaching us really good techniques for putting on makeup & of cos the DOs & DONTs, bla bla bla. Not forgetting the secret to quick & effective make up! It was so good! He was funny & my oh my, the tips were really good. and so was AFTER THAT :) Mind you, we were hand pick to attend this event as only 30 women were selected to attend & i can bet you a million bucks that there were many (jealous) women out there who would have been dying to go for it.*winks*
So after listening to the talk, we were presented with a Harpers Bazaar bag filled with GOODIES! ohhhh..it was some Solid stuff this year round! ;) So with much excitement, i opened my bag & saw quite a fair bit of stuff & also vouchers that was redeemable for products & makeovers. So here goes, the products which we got for FREE!! urgh! i couldn't believe my eyes!! i mean guys, i know you'll be wondering like what the hell is wrong with this girl, it's only cosmetics! but i must say, every girl will be THIS (points to myself) happy with free GOOD cosmetics for FREE! So we spend almost 3 hours walking around the cosmetics counters at Pavillion Parkson redeeming our free stuff.

a post especially for you couzzie!
Finally the weekend is here & I'm proud to say that I'm absolutely pleased to have a quiet & peaceful weekend doing something or just nothing at all at home. Just not in the mood to be out there drinking, or chilling out somewhere. I'd just rather to be in the comforts of home. -bliss-
Exactly a week ago, I was home with the family. Being home was just pure bliss, pure joy & happiness. I wish I could go home every single weekend. *sigh*
Well couz, as promised, I will now post pics from dad's wake to my trip home last weekend for dad's 40th day prayer. My my, time is really flying by superly fast.

Oh yea, it was U.Derrick's birthday, the same day we cremated dad. So we decided to get him a cake. Poor guy had to send his brother off on his birthday!
Ko. Mark on the guitar playing a "Happy Birthday" song for U.Derrick. Damn, if dad was around, he would usually be the one on the guitar. *sigh*
Uncle Derrick cutting the cake & was complaining about something, I think he was telling us that he is allergic to gluten & how he can't eat cake or else it'll have a reaction on him.
Couz, so typical U.Derrick right? the way he's pointing to the cake & the expression on his face. RASCAL ol' man! lol!

Well couz, there's more pics of my previous trip home, but I'm still waiting for Uncle Allan to e-mail them to me. So once i have them with me, I'll post it up ok? Or else I'll just let you have a look at it when you come back. If you want to see more pics of dad's wake let me know. I've got quite a fair bit. Even the ones in church for his mass.
On the day we send dad off, that night we bought him 3 loads of fire crackers & lited them up for him. The beautiful ones that go up high in the sky & comes out with many different colours. Unfortunetly we didn't take pictures of that. Or else i would have uploaded. Cos you know right couz, dad loves (i wouldn't say loveD, cos to me, he's still around, somewhere) firecrackers & just before we lited all of them up, I walked to his picture at the alter & said to him or more like to his picture out loud that we bought him fire crackers & we were gonna lite it all up just for him. :) I don't know if i was/am being delusional, but I sure know that if he was there that night, I would have seen a big smile on his face! =)
Oh well, that's bout all for now.
Have a splendid weekend ahead!

Yesterday marked the 30th day of my dad's passing. How time flew by so quickly, it will continue to fly by again. Oh, how i miss him so much! :(
I will be going back to jb this weekend for his 40th day prayer & it will be really painful as i'll be walking into the house for the 1st time with him totally not being there. It's scary as i don't want to imagine how i will feel as that time. he will not be there to welcome me with his super happy face. sigh. LIFE.
Gotta run. feel like i need to be out of the house now.
xoxo.

The lost of the bestest man in my life.
This Friday, 23rd October 2008 will mark the 4th week that my dad has left us to be with the Lord. As most of you would know, i lost my dad to a massive heart attack on the 26th September 2008. I finally managed to gather & pick myself up to post up this entry. Still keeping my fingers crossed that i would not break down into tears while i type this.
Losing my dad was the most difficult thing i had ever gone through in my life. It was my biggest fear; losing someone i love to death. I tell people, it's for the better as i didn't want him to suffer but on the other hand i wish he didn't have to leave us, leave me.
His death was a shocking incident in my whole entire life. I used to think to myself at times, how would i react if i were to lose my father or my mother or my sister or my nan. and honestly, i couldn't find no answers in me. I used to shrug it away with the thought "no way man. not now, not so soon". only to realize that everything is possible. Time does not matter. It was a disaster as when i found out that my dad had passed on, it was just a flash back from all the previous thoughts i used to have, i couldn't believe he was gone just like that, i couldn't believe he just left without saying goodbye, i couldn't believe that i lost my dad. I couldn't believe i lost the bestest man in my life, my pillar of strength.
My dad was my inspiration to have a simple life as he was the simplest person i ever knew. His demands for the best were minimal, his request for the things he loved doing were almost non-existent.
He was such a great person, so great that words are not powerful enough to describe. Those that knew him will know exactly the kind of person he was. Joyful, cheeky, loving & caring. He was a man of few words but when he spoke, he only spoke about reality & things he really meant.
If there was a person to be awarded with 'A Good Samaritan" award, without any further thoughts, i'll award it to my father. He was a good samaritan of our kampung & of cos among his friends. If anyone needed a helping hand be it fixing their roof, or watching over their house when no one's in, building up a barricade for their balcony, right up to lending a listening ear, he definitely will be there without any hesitations. He wasn't only gifted with his hands, he was also blessed with a kind heart. He used to believe in 3 principals in life;
1. never cheat
2. never steal
3. never lie
These principals were not only well known with me, but also with his mum, my grandmother. Upon seeing his face while he laid in the coffin with a peaceful face, i was comforting my nan by saying that at least he looked at peace when he died. and she told me, "well girl, that is what you get from being a good person. your dad was a good person. he always believed in 3 things, never cheat, never steal & never lie". At that moment, i knew that whenever a person does good in life, it does comes around. Especially when it comes from a person who is 85 years old whom believed in what her 58 year old son believed.
There's a lot more that i can say about my dad, but how i truly feels only lies within me. No words can. describe it. but certainly, you will hear more about how i feel about him rather than all the stories in my boring life.
xoxo
